In a future update, can you please give us the option to prevent duplicate hosts when moved from another grid? This would save me a bunch of time from having to export to Excel, check for dupes and create a new grid with remaining hosts.

Why are you exporting to Excel? Why not just sort the grid by host name inside of BatchPatch? Then you’ll be able to immediately find the duplicates because they’ll all be right next to each other after sorting.

However, you can already do what you’re asking about. Go to Tools > Settings > Grid Preferences > Prevent duplicate host names from being added to the grid

It’s faster to export to Excel and have it highlight the dupes that I can quickly remove with one click, versus scrolling down and checking hosts one by one in the grid.
The current setting to prevent duplicate hosts only works when adding to grid, not when moving from one grid to another.

The setting does work when moving/copying host names from one grid to another. It does not work when moving/copying entire rows. Based on what you’re describing, it sounds like you really only need it to copy the host names, not the entire rows, since that’s effectively what you are doing with your Excel process/method.

Can you describe the process that you use in Excel? I’d like to see what that looks like, as I’m not familiar with it. Depending on how it works, we might also be able to add something like how it works for you in Excel.

Yes, I’m moving the rows from one grid to another.

If I have to check for duplicates, I’m copying the data from the grid to excel, then Data, then Remove Duplicates. Then copying the hosts that are left into BP.
