I’ve seen this in the past as well, on one or two systems, and do not remember how it was resolved.
A recent slew of Update Tuesday patches is yielding the same on about a dozen systems… After installing, and if needed rebooting, further download/install checks show an update downloading, and installing… and then showing “no reboot required.Overall installation result: succeeded.” If I check again, the same result shows again. And again. And again…
Looking on the system, looking at the Windows updates screen:
    – it shows last checked some time ago, not now as I trigger batchpatch to cause a check
    – “check for updates” manual check yields a flash of a glimpse showing the system downloading and stalling a Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus – KB2267602. The def I’m seeing is 1.393.674.0. The speed at which it installs the update implies it is not actually installing it. Def updates are fast, but not that fast.
    – View UPdate history shows that definition update being applied over and over, each time I manually trigger it on the system (though not for the times batchpatch triggered it)

Systems affected include Windows 10 Pro, 2019 Server, 2016 Server
I’ve run the troubleshooter for windows update to no success.

You appear to be describing an observation with the behavior of Windows Update that you’re encountering that doesn’t have anything to do with BatchPatch. If they were my systems, I would probably do nothing. My guess is the “issue” will disappear on its own. If you really want to “fix” it then you could try removing/renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder or maybe just the SoftwareDistribution\Download folder as a reset for the Windows Update components. Google for instructions on that, and perform those steps at your own risk.
