I am testing out BatchPatch for potential purchase and not having much luck. I tested this on a computer that needed 5 patches. BatchPatch was able to detect it needed the correct patches by selecting “Windows Updates/Check For Available Updates”. However when I try to install the patches I get the following errors in the log:
::Begin installation
1> Security Update for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2013 (KB3085567) farm-deployment – Installation Result: Failed. HRESULT: -2145124320. Reboot Required: FALSE
2> Security Update for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2013 (KB3114335) farm-deployment – Installation Result: Failed. HRESULT: -2145124320. Reboot Required: FALSE
3> Security Update for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2013 (KB3114481) farm-deployment – Installation Result: Failed. HRESULT: -2145124320. Reboot Required: FALSE
4> Security Update for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2013 (KB3039768) farm-deployment – Installation Result: Failed. HRESULT: -2145124320. Reboot Required: FALSE
5> Security Update for Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2013 (KB3114733) farm-deployment – Installation Result: Failed. HRESULT: -2145124320. Reboot Required: FALSE
::End installation
Overall Installation Result: Failed
Reboot Required: FALSE
I do have admin privileges on the remote machines and have placed psexec.exe in c:windows on the machine I am running BatchPatch on. Any help would be appreciated.
February 25, 2016 at 4:10 pm #11150dougModeratorHRESULT -2145124320 from Windows converts to:
0x80240020 -2145124320 WU_E_NO_INTERACTIVE_USER Operation did not complete because there is no logged-on interactive user.
Certain updates (we have only ever actually seen this error with SharePoint updates) can require an interactive user to perform/complete the installation.
I hope this helps.

February 25, 2016 at 4:18 pm #11151PatchMasterParticipantThanks Doug. I guess I just picked the wrong patch to test BatchPatch with.
February 25, 2016 at 4:21 pm #11152dougModeratorNo problem. Seems like just a case of bad luck. Holler if you run into any other issues.
