Display of tooltips

I had been using an old free version of BatchPatch (almost a year old) and the tooltips would appear when the mouse pointer hovered over the cell that had additional information (with an optional middle-click to display the contents). I just convinced my employer to purchase BatchPatch (yay!) and downloaded the current version of the program. It now seems that I must click the middle button to make the tooltip appear and hovering no longer works.

Is this a designed feature change or is my machine not working correctly?

If this is how it’s supposed to work, could it be made optional and allow the user to choose to make the tooltip appear by hovering?

    Thanks!

DJ – This change was intentional. The hover tooltip is problematic when there is a lot of data in each cell, and it became much more of a nuisance than anything else, which is why we switched to only using the more controlled middle-click tooltip. However, we will consider the possibility of adding back the hover tooltip as an optional feature.

    Thanks for your feedback,

As a follow-up to this, maybe you could have the hover tooltips only show the first 10 or so lines of text (or even make it a user-configurable option) or only have hover tooltips work on certain columns (Logged On Users or All Messages, for example).

    Again, thanks for your time.
