    Hi

I have a problem with Batchpatch. The software is to be used on PC’s which are not on domain they are on a workgroup. I have manaaged to add one of the PC’s to batchpatch and can ping from batchpatch.

When I attempt to do a windows update i get the error “LoginFailure: Unknown username or bad password.” When I attempt to get the Mac adress of a PC I get the error message: “Exception from HRESULT 0X8007005 (E_ACCESS DENIED).”

I have the same user name and password for all the PC’s and have logged on to that account on all. I have also tried to log in with the Administrator account on all PC’s again with the same password for all.

Like I have mentioned before, the PC’s are not on a domain but on a workgroup.

    Many thanks

Doug, can you clarify your comment? I have a similar setup, and traces show that a login attempt isn’t being made at all. I have specified the domain as the local computer, but never see that getting sent to the target work station. I’ve validated that psexec with the -u and -p parameters are able to cause a command to be executed on the remote workstation.

These issues should be resolved in the current release. More information on authentication in workgroup environments is posted here: BatchPatch Authentication In Domain And Non-Domain Workgroup Environments
