Hello 🙂
I did do some searching before I posted here….and I know know this article exists:
https://batchpatch.com/enabling-microsoft-update-instead-of-windows-update-on-target-computers-with-batchpatch
…and I read a thread about the same thing….
https://batchpatch.com/forums/x/topic/is-there-a-way-to-change-the-windows-update-config-through-batchpatch/
However, in my environment, BP is not able to set the parameter:
“specify intranet Microsoft update service location”
Even after doing the procedure described. It still is set to the WSUS server’s URL. This is set by GPO…however if I logon to the server, and manually edit the policy, and set it to “disabled”………THEN BP actually shows it as Microsoft Update.
What I am doing wrong. Could someone please help me!
Thanks
PS: Update location GPO is set up guys higher up than me, so I cannot change the GPO. However, if I can “temporarily” set the Windows update settings to look at the internet (Microsoft update) instead of those guys’ WSUS/SCCM server, I can use “Cluster aware updating” to manually update my Hyper-V cluster nodes. I was hoping BP could help in setting that setting.
