I know that you are considering this for the future of BatchPatch, but I would like to put a plug in as well.
Our office/s would love to see this great product turn into an enterprise tool.
I envision BatchPatch having work spaces. One that works just as it does now where each user has space to make it do whatever they need. The others are a shared work spaces that each user can see, use, and change. Places it could fit, are to put another row of tabs or the work spaces would open in separate running app/process with another color for the background.
At some point it could be a program that people log into using directory credentials and have controls based on the security profile.
I do understand this would not be an easy change.
I have had to document and train others on how to use BatchPatch and have often wished I could share some pre-configured scripts, groups, processes, and jobs. I have also wished that I could delegate some small tasks where BatchPatch would be very helpful but have been concerned about using my licenses for someone that would only use it once a week for something so small. I sometimes get concerned with the damage this user could do. Concurrent licenses and access control for the second part.
Keep up the great work.

I think I understand all of your suggestions, but I want to just clarify that I understand what you mean by “work spaces.” I think you’re essentially just saying that you want to have multiple users be able to be logged on to the computer that runs BatchPatch at the same time, and you want all of them to be able to view the same grids and perform actions on those grids. Is this correct? Or when you say “work space” do you mean something different?
Other items you’d like to see are:
*Different licensing model
*Security roles that would allow some users to have more abilities than others. Some roles could be more restricted such that they can be prevented from executing certain actions or perhaps even be prevented from viewing certain grids altogether as well.
If there’s anything else, please let me know. We will definitely consider all of your suggestions.
Thanks,
Doug
