Hi there,
I just started testing out BatchPatch and so far it’s looking great!However, I do have one issue and a few suggestions:
Issue:
Execute queue screen for my queue is too large and therefore I can’t see the bottom buttons in order to execute. What I end up doing is going to “Create / Modify Job Queue” and executing it from there.Feature suggestions:
Windows Update Settings need to be changed back and forth in order to install “upgrades” and as well as all other updates. This prevents me from doing it all via one queue.
Is there any way to eliminate this so that everything can be installed with one queue, or at least to somehow automate these settings changes or allow them to be modified in the queue?Tools -> Settings -> Windows Update -> Update Classification Filtering, please add “select all” and “select none” buttons.
Actions -> Windows Updates:
“Check for available updates” should take into account the BP Windows Update settings and only return update results based on the filtered criteria.List of Windows updates should be seen right in “All Messages” after Check Updates and during download and not only after updates are downloaded and installed.
New action in Job queue -> Special action:
Wait for host to go offline, come back online, and Windows Update to be ready.Pop up message in BP on specific events (such as deployment finished, error encountered, etc…).
Ability to set Remote Execution Context per remote process as well as per deployment.
Thank you very much and keep up the great work!
EranJune 6, 2020 at 5:44 pm #12368dougModeratorThanks. I’ve emailed you about the ‘execute queue’ situation, asking for you to send me a screenshot, because I’m not quite sure what you’re describing.
We’ll consider your feature suggestions for a future build.

Were you able to recreate the issue using the information that I emailed to you?Any thoughts regarding my suggestions? Let me know if you need more info on these as well.

June 11, 2020 at 11:56 pm #12376dougModeratorI’m sorry I hadn’t given you a more in-depth reply to the email. I think there was just a misunderstanding – I had replied thanking you for sharing the screenshot and resolutions/DPI settings, which we needed to see so that we could confirm that we understood what you were describing, and which we do now understand. It’s just a matter of having a large job queue + low screen resolution, so the confirmation dialog doesn’t fit on the screen. Nothing more to it. The way to work around it for now is to simply do what you are already doing and execute the queue directly from the job queue window or increase your screen resolution so that the window fits. We are considering the ways that we might address this in a future build. And as mentioned previously, we will consider your other suggestions for a future build. Thanks again.

Some other suggestions:
In job queues -> Create/Modify
1. There is currently no way to change the display order of Saved Queues (missing the up and down arrows).
2. There is currently no way to rename a saved queue. The only way to actually do this is to load the saved queue, change the title, then press the double right arrow to save it. However, BP then gives a warning message that the queue already exists. The message itself is grammatically incorrect as well: “Would you like still like to save this…”
The options it gives are “Yes”, “No”, and “Cancel”. “No and “Cancel” seem to do the same thing (they don’t save the queue with the new name).
Pressing “Yes” copies it to the right side. Then, the queue with the “old” name needs to be manually deleted.Thanks again,
EAJune 22, 2020 at 8:30 pm #12382dougModerator1. The saved queues are ordered by clicking on the column headers. You can order alphabetically by ‘Title’ or by ‘Queue’
2. We’ll fix this. Thanks.

2. Great, you’re welcome.EA
