Hi, I ran into a server this morning that when I do a “check for updates”, batch patch reports there are no applicable updates. However if I do a check for updates on this server in Windows I see 3 for this month that say pending install. Server is Windows 2019 version 1809. Thanks.

Hi, I went through this list and I believe everything is set correctly. We are not using WSUS or SCCM, we are getting updates direct from Microsoft. We are also not using offline mode or cached mode. I have important and recommended updates checked. I feel these should fall under those categories. Here’s is what is waiting at the server when I check.

    2022-11 Cumulative update KB5019966
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool KB890830
2022-11 Cumulative update for .NET KB5020685

    All status of Pending Install

Based on what you’ve said, it sounds like the results showing in the Windows control panel are simply stale. BatchPatch shows a real-time picture of what’s available. Windows doesn’t. Please refer to reason number 3 on the list at the link above, and then follow the link and instructions there. Let me know how it goes.
