    hello,

when attempting to run Windows Updates > Check for Available Updates, the following error message is returned by BatchPatch:

Error 1621: No application is associated with the specified file for this operation. Please make sure that ‘C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll’ is a valid/accessible filepath.

this is occurring on all servers in my saved bps file, where it used to work. the only change that has been made recently is that i updated BatchPatch to v2021.4.7.18.55

BatchPatch tries to detect the path of your PsExec, and somehow it detected ‘C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll’. Not sure how that happened but go to ‘Tools > Settings > Remote Execution’ and modify the PsExec custom path there to point to the actual PsExec.exe on your system.

The solution didn’t resolve my issue. Is there another solution to the issue?

04/28 08:24:32> Windows Update: Error 1612: No application is associated with the specified file for this operation. Please make sure that C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll is a valid/accessible filepath. HRESULT: -2147467259

@waldog – The resolution I posted above is definitely correct for your situation. I would suggest going back and reviewing the setting again. Right now BatchPatch thinks your PsExec.exe is C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll. You need to modify ‘Tools > Settings > Remote Execution’ to point to the actual PsExec.exe on your system. I would suggest putting PsExec.exe into C:\Windows, and then put C:\Windows\PsExec.exe into the setting noted above. Make sure to save the setting instead of canceling/Xing the window. Also make sure you apply it to the correct user profile. That is, if you run BatchPatch as userA, but you make the setting change after launching BatchPatch in the context of userB, then only userB will have the setting change.
