Hello,
Is it possible to close batchpatch and autosave all opened lists ?
Or is there a feature request page where this can be added ?
we would like to schedule closing the program but need to save everything to keep all status.
Is that possible with the current version ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards, Erwin
October 6, 2016 at 3:53 pm #11398dougModeratorHello Erwin – Out of curiosity, I wonder if you could explain why you would like to schedule closing the program? It helps for us to hear the “why” behind requests like these, so that we can get a better idea of the use case, which helps us determine how best to do a given implementation.
Currently if you use the ‘run-as-service’ feature, it auto-saves the grids that are running in the BatchPatch service instance. However, in the regular app (not using run-as-service) grids are not auto-saved.
Thanks,
Doug

The reason why is that several people have to use the application. If the run-as-service functionality provides this , that would be great.
so if the run-as-service is active, how is the autosave arranged ? is there a configure option or is there a default timeframe it is getting saved ?
for using it by multiple users, it would be great to have the status etc saved in the lists frequently so everyone can use those status.
also if not using the run-as-service it would be nice to have an option to autosave the grids because not every user is experienced with the program and may forget to save them
October 10, 2016 at 5:39 pm #11400dougModeratorIn the run-as-service configuration there is not an option to modify any auto-save options. Grids are automatically saved every 15 seconds.
We do not recommend that multiple users share the same .bps files.
We will consider adding auto-save functionality to the regular BP when not using run-as-service.
With regard to command-line close/save-all, if you use the following command from the command-line on the batchpatch computer, BP will prompt you to save all.
taskkill /IM batchpatch.exe
Thanks,
Doug

An autosave option would be nice if the run-as-service is not used.
yes, i see it, but it cannot be automated but thanks for letting it know.
I know it is not advisable to use the .bps files, but it can happen and if it happens we would want to keep as much as info as possible.
thanks so far for now !
