I would like to automate this report for all members of a bps/bpt file(s) for a defined period(month or week) and XML output. The goal is to automate customer reports
Do we have the possibility to run a task/command line to save this report in a XML file?
Having the ‘Consolidated Update History Report’ scheduled is a feature that would be a huge time saver during audits… Our company goes through anywhere from 4 – 10 throughout the year. Scheduling the reports and defining a export location ( i.e. UNC, drive letter, or local location.) would make for a huge value added feature. IMPO
Thanks for your input, Patrick. I’d be curious to understand more detail, if you don’t mind sharing. Specifically what I’d like to understand is why automating the report is helpful/important vs running it manually when it’s needed. So like if I know that I need to produce a report for an upcoming audit, I can fire up BP and run the report for all computers within just a minute or two. What value is there to having the report run at a scheduled time? Your thoughts and feedback are appreciated!
Ultimately it comes down to convenience… We have a small crew here of 4 managing 1000+ servers/workstations, so everything is about automation for us. During the audits we may receive requests for several dates and times, so already having them generated would make working through these audits move more smoothly.
