reobringer – The Auto-host checker default setting was switched from enabled to disabled on startup. To enable it, please go to Tools > Settings > Automatically start host online/offline status check on startup. Sorry for the confusion. Because of all the changes we made, we had to do a one-time reset of all defaults. If you test an old build and then go back to the new build, the settings will get reset again. But if you stick with the new build and future builds, your settings should stick.

I also noticed now that if you load a .bps file by doubleclicking on it, the check starts automatically (if it’s enabled) but if you launch BatchPatch first, and then you drag a .bps file onto the grid (or use File > Open) the grid that you add does not auto-start the check. We’ll get this fixed. It’s due to the multi-tab interface setup. The auto-start is only applying to the first grid in the window.

Note that you can always manually turn it on/off after BatchPatch has been loaded by clicking on the LED column header. Also note that if it’s NOT on, host LED images will still get colored automatically during any operation that reboots the machine, such as a Windows Update plus reboot action, or just a plain reboot, or even just a ping operation. This is why we disabled the auto-status checker as the default. We found that it was a bit easier/cleaner to let the individual rows handle their own LED coloring. You might find that it’s actually easier/better to leave it disabled, but of course it’s a personal preference and that’s up to you. There is no harm in enabling it.

Regarding the image colors being saved, this was never the case as far as I remember. I just went back and tested several of the pre-June builds to make sure I was remembering correctly, and it doesn’t seem that the colors were ever saved. If you have a specific build number that you can direct me to, I would be curious to test that build in case I’m just misremembering. Regardless, I think this is a good idea, and we’ll add it to the list of items to implement in one of the next builds. It will likely be a user-defined option, so that the user has control over whether or not the colors are saved/loaded.

Thanks,

Doug
