We currently wake machines weekly to do an AV scan and patch install. Works well for us and everything is up to date.

Now someone has put a spanner in the works and reminded us about our environmental obligations. so now i have to shut the machines down once everything is completed.

This is where my problem is. I want them on for about 2/3 hours to allow for the full av scan and patch install. I can see there is a max “wait 10 minutes” in the job queue but i really don’t want to stick a pile of them in. i have tried using a batch job with “timeout /t 10800” in it but that is failing on me.

    any ideas?

Lewok – Your options are to either insert a bunch of 10 min wait periods, or you could have a scheduled task for each row that performs the shutdown. The scheduled task could be on the same grid, or you could create a new grid just for that purpose.
