I have an odd “issue” and wanted to see if anyone else has this happening. For this instance, I will reference KB5087420. When I scan for patches, it will show one needed. Then when I trigger download and install it will download 17 files for just this one KB. The total downloaded data is over 10GBs for this. There are multiple wim and psf files that seem completely unrelated. The biggest issue is I have limited bandwidth at some sites and it taking hours to download what appears to be needless patches. One that is coming down is a featrueondemand wim file that is about 6GBs. Is there a reason for this or it based on the settings I have set somewhere? I have also noticed with some patches it will download a KB as a msu and a wim. Just to add more context to what I am seeing.

    Thanks

When you use offline mode, this is unavoidable. It has to do with changes that Microsoft made to Windows Update at some point during Windows 10, and it continues to be the case with Windows 11. To workaround this you can either use online mode in BatchPatch, or you can manually download just the .MSU file for the update from the Microsoft Catalog, and then you can deploy the .MSU using the BatchPatch ‘Deploy’ feature instead of using the Windows Update actions in BatchPatch.

That’s what I figured. Thank you.
