Maintenance Slot

Thanks for a really fantastic app.

I’m new to our company and currently look after Microsoft patching. Thankfully we purchased Batchpatch as WSUS on it’s own is useless.

This might come as a strange question but we have over 200 servers(On Prem (Hyper-v) and in Azure) and the business does not as yet have a dedicated Maintenance Slot’s

What is the best way to “convince” the business we need a slot for maintenance which obviously includes the patching of servers?

I’m sure a lot of other users may have the same issue convincing business to reboot servers in in 24/7 world

I don’t think this is a common problem at all. In fact, maybe that’s one way to convince management. Explain to them that it’s highly unusual to have 200+ servers with no dedicated maintenance window. EVERY company needs a maintenance window to do maintenance. Just like you need to take your car to the mechanic periodically to do preventive maintenance. I have never heard of a company with 200+ servers and no maintenance window. They are asking for trouble.
