    Hello,

We’re struggling with 2k16 servers not response well to the deadline date in SUS. We simply use SUS to approve updates and set the deadline date and pick a specific day of the month to install/restart. This worked really well for us on 2k12 but not 2k16. Seems like Msft change the way how windows update work. 2016 is no longer adhere to the “deadline” time. It install the update on that day but restart at a different time.

Example: deadline date/time set to = 7/19 at 3:am. server will install/restart at that time, however the 2016 client install but didn’t restart until 6:00 pm.

We wanted to share with everyone in this forum the “/detectnow” is deprecated. I don’t know “resetauthorization” and “reportnow” still work or not.

Back to our original problem. We don’t know “BatchPatch” would have something that can accommodate what SUS can’t for 2016? We have a licensed “BatchPatch” program v. 2017.7.13.16.24.

Any help or suggest would be greatly appreciated.

In BatchPatch you can schedule or manually execute the download/install/reboot at any time that you want. Also, you can schedule or manually execute the download/install/reboot to all happen together at the same time or to happen separately at different times. It’s your choice.
